Pet X-ray and Ultrasounds
Ultrasound and Radiography Imaging Services
As part of our advanced imaging services, Pet Doctors Palm Beach offers state-of-the-art ultrasound and radiography. Ultrasound, or sonography, uses high-frequency sound waves to capture detailed images from inside your pet’s body, while radiography (x-rays) provides critical insights into your pet’s health.
What Ultrasound Imaging Can Do
- Abdominal Organs: We can visualize the architecture of your pet’s abdominal organs to check for masses, inflammation, stones, or other changes.
- Fluid Detection: Ultrasound helps us identify abnormal fluid in the abdomen, chest cavity, or around the heart.
- Heart Health: We can evaluate the size and function of the heart to detect any issues.
What to Expect
- Comfortable and Non-Painful: Ultrasound is a non-invasive, painless procedure.
- Preparation: For optimal results, we may need to give your pet a mild sedation prior to them having an ultrasound, as this ensures we get the most diagnostic images. For this reason, your pet should be fasted for 8 hours before their ultrasound. We will also need to clip the fur from whichever part of the body is being scanned, so that we can get clear images.
- Expert Care: All ultrasounds are performed by our trained veterinary surgeons, ensuring accurate and reliable results. We will go through the images with you when we discharge your pet, and explain the results to you.
We’re proud to offer both ultrasound and radiography imaging services, making our practice your reliable and fully equipped family vet.
Our experienced team uses these advanced tools to provide precise diagnoses and effective treatment plans tailored to your pet’s needs.
