Meet Our Team

Pet Doctors Palm Beach are fortunate to have a wonderful team of vets, nurses and support staff on hand to offer our clients the finest in veterinary care on the Gold Coast.

You are invited to read our staff biographies below for further information on the team who will be treating your family pet.

Dr. Peter Brown

Peter is the owner and senior vet at Pet Doctors. Peter opened the very first Pet Accident and Emergency Service on the Gold Coast in 2001 after many years working in England.

For the past 15 years he has worked effortlessly to bring his vision to life – to create a local veterinary practice in the Palm Beach area that offers modern diagnostic facilities to support veterinary care advancements and a practice where all our clients receive outstanding personalised care. He has worked in over 40 practices both in Australia and UK and brings a wealth of experience to Pet Doctors, including emergency and critical care, complementary medicine and acupuncture as well as general veterinary practice. He has a keen interest in surgery, especially orthopedic. Away from Pet Doctors you’ll find Peter flying down the hills of the Nerang State Forest on his mountain bike with mates, two sons Jackson and Nicholas and their Labrador X Ollie.

Dr. Dylan Mallett

Dr Dylan Mallett joined the Pet Doctors team officially at the start of 2019 after being a locum with us for a little while. After qualifying from Onderstepoort, South Africa he worked in a mixed practice which saw him doing everything from thoroughbred stud work to managing alpaca herds! Looking to travel and explore Europe with his wife Mary-Anne, he moved to the UK where he worked with horses and small animals for the past 3 ½ years.

Looking for more sunshine in their lives, he finally travelled to the Gold Coast where he now works alongside Dr Peter. In his spare time he enjoys running, surfing, golf and quality time with his wife and two beautiful children, Harrison and Lily.

chantalpetrosillo

Dr. Chantal Petrosillo

Dr Chantal joined our team in June of 2021 as Pet Doctors’ third Veterinarian.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVMs) in 2017 and has 3 years of experience working for small animal Vets with a special interest in medicine and soft tissue surgery.

On her days off, Chantal loves spending time with friends, exploring new places around our amazing part of the world and spending time at the beach with her adorable Chihuahua, Picco!

Tara Matthews 250x333

Nurse Tara

Tara joined the Pet Doctors Team in April 2011 as a Trainee Veterinary Nurse.

Prior to working at Pet Doctors, Tara indulged her love of birds by working for an avian vet for 3 years.

Originally from Melbourne, Tara and her family packed up and headed for the warmth of the Gold Coast 15 years ago and Tara hasn’t looked back.

Tara completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing ahead of schedule in 2013, and spends her free time with her family and looking after her fur family, including our clinic cat Riley!

Carolyn Loftus

Nurse Carolyn

Carolyn is our Senior Veterinary Nurse. As well as having 9 years of experience looking after companion animals she also has a wealth of experience looking after our native wildlife. And on top of all this she still finds time to be Pet Doctors Senior Puppy school teacher!

When she does have free time Carolyn likes to keep fit and healthy and also loves to take her dogs, the mischievous Vader (Belgian Shepherd Groenendael X)  and the cheeky Pearl (Australian Shepherd) to the beautiful Gold Coast beaches.

Georgi – Practice Manager

Georgi joined the team as a trainee nurse at the beginning of 2020 with a BSc in Zoology and experience in a country practice in the UK. She became our Practice Manager in 2022, shortly before becoming a qualified vet nurse.

When she is not at the clinic, Georgi is usually eating cake at The Paddock; enjoying one of the Gold Coast’s beautiful beaches; or spending quality time with her husband Duncan, her daughters Chloe and Phoebe, her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Pippin, and her rescue cat, Cali.

Nurse Amber

Amber joined the Pet Doctors team in early 2020, and became a qualified nurse shortly afterwards. She has had previous experience as a volunteer at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary hospital. Her furry family includes 3 dogs – Benji, Sash and Olly, who she loves to take out on adventures with her husband on her days off. She also has a beautiful rescue cat, Mish, and a one-legged cockatiel named Pretzel.

Amber has special interest in animal behaviour and dog training, so can often be found teaching her pups to perform tricks! She is also extremely crafty and is often creating thoughtful gifts for everyone at the clinic.

Nurse Raylee (RVN)

Raylee became part of the Pet Doctors team in July 2020 with a Certificate IV in Vet Nursing and 6 years of experience in the industry. She has recently become a registered veterinary nurse, and is always studying and looking to improve her nursing knowledge.

Raylee has a special interest in radiography, ultrasonography and surgery. During her time off, you can find Raylee playing her guitar, enjoying water sports, or spending time with her handsome Boxer, Boston, and her beautiful Birman cat, Winston.

Morgan – Animal Assistant

Morgan first came to Pet Doctors as a work experience student back in 2021, and we loved her work so much that we then employed her as our Animal Assistant! She has recently completed her Cert II in Animal Studies, and is currently working towards finishing her Year 12 studies.

Morgan’s interest at school is Biology and she has a view to becoming a Vet Nurse/Technician in the future. She loves science, reading and writing and animal care – which is no surprise as she has two cats, Bean and Benji, and a dog, Bronson, at home!
